Marked the 25th anniversary of Fund "Bošnjaci"

A ceremony was held at the Student Center of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the presence of a large number of guests, waqifs, donors, representatives of institutions, friends, former scholarship holders of the Fund and the media to mark the 25th anniversary of Fund "Bošnjaci".

On this occasion, special gratitude and respect was expressed to the founder and waqif of Fund "Bošnjaci" r. Alija Izetbegović and all those who recognized the role and importance of this special and only financial waqf in our country and gave their contribution to its preservation and improvement.

Acknowledgments to a number of donors were presented by Šahin Kerla, Director, Lejla Akšamija, Member and Huso Salihović, President of the Managing Board of the Fund.

Šahin Kerla addressed the audience, emphasizing the need for continuous assistance in education and science to especially gifted pupils and students in our country, and the importance of preserving and improving this above all noble waqf.

Nezim Halilović Muderris, as the former director of the Waqf Directorate and one of the signatories of the Waqfnama, emphasized the importance of preserving and improving the Fund, especially emphasizing the responsibility and role of management in its work and activities.

One of the largest donors from the ranks of individuals, Mr. Muzaffer Čilek, Honorary Consul of our country in Bursa, thanked, among other things, to the Fund for its responsibility and transparency in its work, expressing readiness to continue supporting Fund "Bošnjaci".

Among others, the audience addressed Mr. Bakir Izetbegović, President and one of the donors of the Fund, emphasizing that the best answer to all the challenges facing our country is the education and training of the best among us. Only educated and well-schooled staff can provide an answer to the extremely difficult and complex situation in our country.

In the second part of the program, Waqfnamas were handed over to the new Waqifs of Fund "Bošnjaci". One of Waqifs of the Fund prof. dr. Enes Ljevaković, Deputy Reisul-Ulema of the Islamic Community in BiH, who endowed significant financial resources in behalf of the late father of Hafiz Muharem Ljevaković and the late mother of Nafiza Ljevaković nee Ibrahimkadić, was presented with the Waqfnama by the Director of the Fund.

The deputy reisul-ulema ulema handed over the Waqfnamas to the other waqifs. In his address, he said, among other things, that the speech about Fund "Bošnjaci" begins and in a way ends with r. Alija Izetbegović, who in the time after the armed aggression on our country noticed that the precondition for the renewal and construction of our society is an investment in education and science.

The moderator of the program was a long-time scholarship holder of the Fund, doc. dr. Amra Džaferović Hasečić, one of the best and most successful students in our country.

From this ceremony, a message was sent to all those who recognized the importance, role and significance of Fund "Bošnjaci", how they can, if they wish, be a part of this noble waqf through a new endowment or donation and thus give their contribution to its lasting survival and help to educate future generation.
