STUDY TRIP OF FUND “BOŠNJACI” SCHOLARSHIP HOLDERS
Fund "Bošnjaci" organized a visit of its scholarship holders to Tuzla gate and the Memorial Centre Srebrenica-Potočari on Saturday October 08, 2016.
The trip aim was to visit places that make an essential part of the culture of remembrance in this area. The framework route was related to areas from Tuzla to Srebrenica (Potočari). In doing so, students were informed in detail by distinguished Professor Nazim Ibrahimović about horrible crimes (1992-95) committed particularly in areas such as Tuzla gate and Potočari.
Students had an opportunity not only to be witnesses of completely cruel and tragic history, but also to shape that vision by this historical observation of the Memorial Centre Srebrenica- Potočari, where is emphasized the importance and significance of remembering, in order not to be repeated the same. In doing so, students paid tribute to all innocent victims of genocide on appropriate way. During the visit, they had an opportunity to visit former UN base, where is presented a documentary about horrible genocide committed by the Serbian aggressor, in July 1995.
In addition to these visits and in accordance with their own initiative, students had the opportunity to talk with Fata Orlović from Konjević Polje, one of symbols of the Bosnian defiance and resistance. Orlović, at the end of conversation, similar to Šantić’s verses, warned on the heat and sun of their own country, and said to the Fund scholarship holders: "Study and simply learn. Stay here, preserve and save your nation and your country."
On this occasion, on behalf of Fund "Bošnjaci" and scholarship holders, we thank to the leadership of Behram-bey’s Madrasa in Tuzla that provided hot meals to the scholarship recipients; we thank to Professor Nazim Ibrahimović, as well as to all employees of the Memorial Centre Srebrenica-Potočari.
