SIGNED SCHOLARSHIP CONTRACTS FOR SCHOOL/ACADEMIC YEAR 2019/20
Fund ''Bošnjaci'' organized a ceremony of signing a scholarship agreement for the sch./acc. year 2019/20 at the Gazi Husrev-Bey’s Library in Sarajevo on Saturday, December 21, 2019.
In order to preserve from oblivion all that has been done in the last twenty years, a documentary about Fund ''Bošnjaci'' was filmed, which was shown at the beginning of this ceremony.
After the documentary, Šahin Kerla, the Director of the Fund and the President of the Scholarship Committee, addressed the attendees, stating that over 2,600 students and pupils were awarded so far, including 125 students with an average grade of 10.00, then more than 260 students winners of award, ''Golden Badge'', ''Golden Plaque'', ''Charter of the Rector'' ''Charter of the Dean” etc., over 160 students of the generation and 18 Huffaz of the Holy Quran. The average grade of scholarship recipients so far ranged from 9.00 to 9.60 for students and from 4.70 to 5.00 for pupils.
The Fund's Director briefed the attendees on the Rules, Criteria, Procedures and Candidate Scoring System, as well as the awarding of scholarships to students for school/ academic year 2019/20.
Sixty scholarships have been awarded this year, of which 45 are for students and 15 for pupils whose average grade is 9.44 for students and 4.90 for pupils. Among the winners of this year's scholarships are 12 students with an average grade of 10.00 at the most prestigious universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. No complaints have been lodged with the published preliminary list of scholarship applicants.
In the following, the Fund’s Director thanked all those who contributed in any way to the affirmation, preservation and promotion of the work of Fund ''Bošnjaci'', especially thanked to the wakifs and donors of the Fund who have donated about 1.900.000,00 BAM so far.At the end of his address the Director of the Fund made a few annotations to the Fund’s scholarship holders particularly stressing that they are expected to stay in their homeland after graduation and start working and make it better and more prosperous, to work on the affirmation and promotion of Fund ''Bošnjaci'' and to help it financially to the best of their ability and by that to ensure the continuation of this noble mission.
I wish that in the moments when others are saying to you that we live in a time when ''everything has its price, but nothing has no value'', you need to show that the principles by which you live, the principles of truth, justice and fairness are not for sale and that there are no goods for which they can be bought - said the Director of Fund ''Bošnjaci''.
On behalf of this year's scholarship recipients, Hfz. Velida Smajlović Aletić, 2nd year student of the Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo, Department of Arabic Language and Literature with an average grade of 10.00, otherwise a student of the generation of GHB Madrasa in Sarajevo, addressed the participants. Velida expressed special gratitude to Fund ''Bošnjaci'' and all those who work hard to fill the trust of President Alija Izetbegović, the founder and waqif of the Fund, who recognized the importance of investing in educating young people, helping them along the way, with the aim of strengthening the state and improving the general condition. At the end of her address, she called on the scholarship holders not to give up the fight for the better condition of our society, emphasizing that this can be achieved with hard work and honesty in the path of truth.
Let us protect our identity by adhering to the lofty principles of our faith and never think that our life, our success and our progress depends on the people, it is solely dependent on Allah Almighty who has all the knowledge. We use our knowledge and abilities that have been donated to us for the common good and benefit of our society and our only homeland of Bosnia and Herzegovina - said hafiza Smajlović Aletić.
