PRESENTED A COLLECTION OF ALIJE IZETBEGOVIĆ'S ILLUSTRATED QUOTATIONS "THE MESSAGE TO MYSELF"
A collection of illustrated quotations of the first President of the Presidency of the Republic of BiH Alija Izetbegović, "The Message to Myself" was presented at the Museum "Alija Izetbegović" on the occasion of marking the Canton Sarajevo's Day, and it crisscrossed the quotes that talk about life, death, freedom, love, science, art and other topics.
The editor of the collection, granddaughter of Alija Izetbegović, Nađa Berberović-Dizdarević, said that she has been collecting the quotations for years, reading Izetbegović’s works.
''I recorded quotes that were significant to me and this collection was created. We have enriched it by illustrations of young artist Džejlana Pašić in order to bring the quotes closer to all generations and show that they are universal ideas'' - said Berberović-Dizdarević.
She emphasized that "Message to Myself" is the first collection of citations, but that this idea will not be completed by this. Artist Pašić pointed out that the illustrations were made in watercolors and that they are inextricably linked with quotations. She suggested that everyone can find themselves in quotations because the themes are universal.
The book's preface was written by writer Hadžem Hajdarević, who said, among other things, that Alija Izetbegović was building his philosophy of life, his own vision of life and the life mission to which he was principally committed, first of all on the Islamic understanding of the world, of life, of life changes and of earthly meanings; and intellectually checked it on the rich, diverse, European conceptual tradition and experience.
Along with the presentation of the collection, the accompanying exhibition of illustrations was presented.
