FUND ''BOŠNJACI'' VISITED THE HIGH DELEGATION OF MINISTRY OF EDUCATION OF THE REPUBLIC OF TURKEY


From 16th to 20th October 2016 the high delegation of Ministry of Education of the Republic of Turkey stayed in a four-day visit to Fund ''Bošnjaci'' which among others have received Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in Bosnia and Herzegovina, HE Mr. Cihad Erginay, then Professor Ph.D. Elvira Dilberović, Federal Minister of Education and Science, and Cantonal Ministers of Education Mensur Sinanović in Zenica and Zlatan Muratović in Tuzla.

After tragic accident at Soma mine, 2014, in which 301 miners lost their life, and behind them stayed over 500 minor children, on the initiative of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina's Chairman, Mr. Bakir Izetbegović, was provided special funding for the four-year scholarships for twenty children of perished miners, which had a great response in Turkey, and thereby that was unique help of this kind that Turkey had accepted from any other country.

In order to deepen friendly relations between two countries, the high delegation of Ministry of Education of the Republic of Turkey, during their stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina, held a meeting with the Director and Managing Board of Fund ''Bošnjaci''. The meeting was attended by the attaché for education at Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Vasi Ete, who also took part in all activities during the four-day visit of this delegation. The delegation visited Federal and Cantonal ministries of education, as well as several schools for children with disabilities with the aim of providing assistance in the form of training of teachers, provision of accessories and equipment needed for these schools. Delegation composed of: Celil Gungor, General Manager of the General Directorate for Special Education and consulting services of Ministry of Education of the Republic of Turkey, Turgut Bagriacik, Head of the department and Dogan Onur Koksal, Expert, visited the Institute for Special Education and Care of Children ''Mjedenica'' in Sarajevo , the Secondary School for vocational education and training for children with special needs in Zenica, the Department for children with developmental disabilities in the First primary school in Konjic, as well as the Department for education of persons with psychological and phisically handicapped persons in Tuzla.

Mentioned delegation toured a number of cultural and historical sights in Bosnia and Herzegovina, such as a tour of Travnik fortress, Počitelj, Tekke at Buna in Blagaj, Tunel spasa (Engl. the Tunnel of Salvation). The delegation visited TIKA in Sarajevo, Cultural Center ''Yunus Emre'' in Sarajevo and Mostar, and attended the ceremony marking the 13th anniversary of death of Fund ''Bošnjaci'' founder and the first president of independent Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Alija Izetbegović.

During the visit was agreed cooperation through assistance to schools for children with developmental disabilities. The first phase of cooperation will be realized in early May next year, by organizing educational seminars in Turkey for a number of school directors as well as representatives of relevant ministries which will work on amendments to the Law on inclusion and its implementation. The second phase of cooperation will be realized through education of teachers in Turkey and equipping schools with teaching equipment and accessories.
