THE FOURTH STUDENT CONFERENCE ON ALIJA IZETBEGOVIĆ HELD IN NOVI PAZAR

On the occasion of 15 years since r. Alija Izetbegović passed away, on October 21, 2018 in the premises of the Bosniak National Council in Novi Pazar was held the Fourth Student Conference on the life and work of the First President of the Independent Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the founder and benefactor of the Fund ''Bošnjaci'', Alija Izetbegović and promotion of the Chronicle of Student Works titled "Bosnia Above All".

The Conference and promotion of the Chronicle of Student Works were organized by Fund ''Bošnjaci'', the Association ''Mladi muslimani'' (Engl. Young Muslims) and Museum ''Alija Izetbegović'' in cooperation with the Bosniak National Council in Novi Pazar.

On behalf of organizers, participants were addressed by Šahin Kerla, Director of the Fund ''Bošnjaci'' and PhD Sulejman Ugljanin, President of the Bosniak National Council.

In his address, the Fund’s Director informed the audience about goals, achievements and activities of Fund ''Bošnjaci'' stating, among other things, that the goal of holding this Conference is primarily to encourage young people to study works of r. Alija Izetbegović in order to get acquainted with his messages, life, commitment and work. With this Conference we want to show to the public the real picture of r. Alija Izetbegović, but from the perspective of the young, said the Fund’s Director.
President of the Bosniak National Council PhD Sulejman Ugljanin said that it is extremely important that young people speak and write about r. Alija Izetbegović. He reminded those present on Alija Izetbegović's statement that after the Berlin Congress, Sandžak people was less fortunate part of our people that is left on the other side of the Drina River. Our main goal is that Bosnia remains a sovereign, internationally recognized and indivisible state. Only such a Bosnia can enable Sandžak to continue his path and, as a sovereign state, to be the protector of the rights and interests of Sandžak both on a regional and international level, said PhD Ugljanin.

After several months of studying r. Alija Izetbegović’s works five students presented their papers, where four of whom were or are currently scholars of the Fund.

Adna Mešanovića student of the IV year of Electrical Engineering and Electronics at the Faculty of Natural and Technical Sciences at the International University of Sarajevo, spoke on the topic of "Education and Professional Life of Alija Izetbegović".
